Are You A Good Neighbour?
A survey showed that 92% of us will help our neighbours if we can. And at some time all of us will have had help from our neighbours or wish they had helped us.
However a lot of us do not want to ask for help or do not know who is able to help us for a particular task.
We provide local groups with a secure, invite-only platform where their members can request help and trusted volunteers can respond privately.
We provide the platform. Groups manage their own members and volunteers.
A Private Help Platform for Local Groups and Their Neighbours
Helping community groups support their members with private, local, volunteer-led help — without social media or public posts.
The annual group fee covers platform access only and does not pay for services, care, or volunteer time.
Our Purpose
The Good Neighbours Network exists to make local community support easier, safer, and more sustainable via a shared and secure platform.
Our aim is to strengthen neighbour-to-neighbour support by giving it the structure it needs to thrive.
Help requests are made by members of participating groups and responded to by independent volunteers.
Help and assistance with tasks such as:
Shopping and Errands
Pet Care Dog
Information and Literacy
Small Household Tasks
Recycling
Befriending/Visiting
Basic Gardening
How It Works
1. Groups Join
Local community groups subscribe to use the platform. The fee covers platform access only.
2. Members & Volunteers Join
Groups invite their own members and volunteers to join for free.
3. Help Is Requested Privately
Members submit private help requests through the platform.
4. Volunteers Choose Whether to Help
Volunteers respond independently to requests they feel able to support.
5. We Provide the Platform
We provide the technology. Groups manage support locally.

Community Support for Local Residents
Are You A Good Neighbour is dedicated to helping neighbours connect with one another.
The platform allows people who may be elderly, disabled, or finding everyday tasks difficult to connect with local volunteers who choose to offer help independently.
Age UK has highlighted that 2 million older people in England are now living with some unmet need for social care.
This figure comes from their major report, The State of Health and Care of Older People, which draws attention to the enormous pressure on England's health and care services.
Unmet Need: The 2 million figure represents older people (aged 65+) who have difficulty with one or more basic daily activities (like dressing, bathing, or getting in and out of bed) and have not received help for these difficulties in the past month.

Community Support for Local Groups
Helping our neighbors with kindness.
Are You A Good Neighbour is a platform that helps local groups support their members through organised, volunteer-led help.
Groups use the platform to provide a safe and private way for members to ask for help and for volunteers to offer support independently.
Many people who are elderly, disabled, or temporarily unwell rely on community support.
By giving groups a structured way to organise help, the platform supports local resilience while keeping responsibility with the group and its members.
Examples of Tasks Groups Commonly Coordinate
Groups using the platform often coordinate help with everyday tasks such as:
Medical and hospital appointments.
Trips to the local GP or dentist.
Visiting the Post Office or bank.
Shopping and Errands: Volunteers assist with daily needs by:
Collecting prescriptions.
Doing grocery shopping or carrying shopping bags.
Running other small errands.
Minor Household Tasks: Helping with small, one-off jobs around the home that are difficult for elderly or less mobile residents:
Changing a lightbulb or batteries.
Putting out the bins.
Minor DIY or gardening tasks (this varies by scheme).
Befriending and Social Support: While this isn't a "practical task," it's a vital service, offering:
Home visits for a chat and a cup of tea to combat loneliness.
Accompanying a resident on a short walk or to a local club.
Administrative Help: Providing a helping hand with paperwork, such as:
Filling in forms.
Reading to those with poor sight.
Availability of tasks depends on the group and participating volunteers.
These tasks are carried out independently by volunteers.
Are You A Good Neighbour does not provide, supervise, or manage services.
