Are You A Good Neighbour does not charge per request, per user, or per volunteer — the group fee simply covers access to the platform itself.

What is Are You A Good Neighbour?

We are a community website that helps people connect with others in their local area.

We provide a platform where people can ask for help with everyday tasks and where volunteers can choose to offer help independently.

Do you provide the help yourselves?

No. We do not provide help or services.

We provide a platform that allows people to connect. Any help offered is arranged directly between members and volunteers.

How does asking for help work?

Members post a task request explaining the type of help they’re looking for.

The request is shared only with one nearby volunteer who has indicated they can help with that task

Are volunteers checked or vetted?

No. We do not carry out background checks or verify volunteers.

Users are responsible for deciding who they interact with and whether an arrangement feels right for them.

Is it safe to use the platform?

We encourage everyone to use common sense and good judgement.

We help people connect but does not supervise arrangements or take responsibility for what happens once people are in touch.

What if I’m elderly, disabled, or unwell?

Are You A Good Neighbour may be used by people who are elderly, disabled, or temporarily unwell.

We do not provide care or supervision, so users (and carers where appropriate) should decide whether using the platform is suitable for their circumstances.

Do members have to pay?

At the moment there is no charge but there is a likelihood that a small annual charge may be introduced for members wishing to use the platform. But right now there is no charge . If a charge is introduced members will have a free choice to pay or not.

The fee does not pay for help or services and does not guarantee that help will be found.

Do volunteers get paid?

No. Volunteers offer help independently and are not paid .

Volunteers are not employees or representatives of the platform.

What if something goes wrong?

Are You A Good Neighbour is not involved in arrangements between users and cannot resolve disputes.

Users can stop communicating with another user at any time and should take appropriate steps if they have concerns.

What is Group Help?

Group Help is a way for people in a local area to share requests and offers of help more widely.

Requests are visible to volunteers, who can choose whether they’d like to respond.

Arrangements are made directly between users.

Is Are You A Good Neighbour a care service?

No. Are You A Good Neighbour is not a care service, support service, or emergency service.
